Where's My Copy?

What Do I Have To Do To Be Mailed The Rattle?

In late 1991, the Grand Chapter of our Fraternity transferred ownership of The Rattle to Theta Chi Funds for Leadership and Education, Inc.  Effective with the first issue of The Rattle that was mailed in early 1992, the magazine’s new owners and publishers (the Board of Directors for the Fraternity’s public foundation) implemented a new policy by which the magazine would be produced each April and October and mailed: (1) to all undergraduate members of Theta Chi Fraternity, (2) to all alumnus members for three years after graduation from college, and (3) to anyone, regardless of their undergraduate or alumnus status, who gave a financial contribution to the Grand Chapter between 1966 and 1986, or who gives a tax-deducible contribution to the Fraternity’s public foundation.  This policy was explained in several subsequent issues of the magazine, and all 90,000 alumni for whom the Fraternity had a good mailing address were advised of the policy when a special version of the Fall 1996 Rattle was mailed to them.

Since 2000, the magazine has been available online via the ‘publication’ icon at www.thetachi.org.  Readers who do not desire to receive a mailed copy of each issue can tell us that by mail or by email ihq@thetachi.org, and we in turn advise them via email when a new issue is available at the website.  Nevertheless, I would be pleased to mail you a copy of the most recent issue if you’d like to check it out “in person.”

We hope that you would like to support the work of the Foundation Chapter of Theta Chi Fraternity, Inc., through an initial tax-deductible financial contribution.  If you do, you could (1) use a donor envelope from the center of an issue of The Rattle that I would be pleased to mail you; or (2) you can mail a check or charge card authorization to: Foundation Chapter, Inc., 3330 Founders Road, Indianapolis, IN 46268-1333; or, (3) you can make an electronic contribution online at www.thetachi.org/foundation.  You will then be added to the mailing list for The Rattle.

It is always good to hear from our members who keep us apprised of personal data, such as postal mail address, email, and telephone numbers.  This can be accomplished by providing information via the mailing address noted above, or via the ‘forms’ icon at www.thetachi.org.   If you are on the mailing list for The Rattle, it is very important that we have a correct postal mail address in our date base for you because when The Rattle is mailed each April and October, we do use a special non-profit postage rate, and issues are not forwarded by the US Postal Service from an old mail address to a new one.
