Iacocca Foundation

The Iacocca Foundation was created to fund diabetes research. To everyone living with type 1 diabetes, it has brought new hope and promise.

With the proceeds of his best-selling autobiography Lee A. Iacocca established the Foundation in 1984 in honor of his late wife, Mary K. Iacocca, who died from complications of type 1 diabetes. Since its inception the foundation has funded more than $23 million in promising research projects.

Although tremendous progress has been made through scientific advances, many questions still exist as to the cause of diabetes and its complications. The only way to solve the mystery is through quality medical research.

The Iacocca Foundation has matured to become a leader in the world's battle against diabetes. Only through the joint efforts of our government, medical science, business communities and private individuals, will we be able to increase awareness and continue to fund research to conquer diabetes once and for all.
