164th Anniversary Convention and 39th School of Fraternity Practices
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and regulations on large group meetings in Kentucky, the Grand Chapter has decided the 164th Anniversary Convention and 39th School of Fraternity Practices will not occur in Lexington this summer. We advise anyone who has made travel arrangements to cancel them.
A memo has been sent to Chapter Presidents, Chapter Advisers, and Alumni Corporation Presidents with additional information about this change.
The Grand Chapter and International Headquarters staff are preparing several online components for the 164th Anniversary Convention which will be open to collegiate and alumnus members as well as colony members. All online Convention sessions will be offered with no registration fee. We encourage you to take a look at the schedule below, mark your calendars, and register to attend.

Other Important 164th Anniversary Convention Updates
Temporary modifications have been made to The Constitution and Bylaws to allow for the continued governance of the Fraternity. The 164th Anniversary Convention will be held at the International Headquarters on July 18, 2020, in a limited fashion, to elect members to the Grand Chapter and the International President and International Vice President. The current (2018/2020) Grand Chapter will serve as the voting delegates to this limited Convention. Chapters and Colonies are relieved of obligations to send representatives to the 164th Anniversary Convention. Due to social distancing guidelines and regulations, in-person attendance at the 164th Anniversary Convention in Carmel, IN, will be limited to essential Convention personnel only at this point in time. The Fraternity will evaluate circumstances between now and July 18 and will explore options to permit attendance by non-essential Convention personnel if prudence and regulations allow. Please monitor this page (thetachi.org/convention) and social media for future announcements.
The 39th School of Fraternity Practices will be rescheduled to July 30-August 2, 2021 in Lexington, KY. Additional information about next summer’s event in Lexington will be published later this year.
The Fraternity appreciates your patience and understanding. The Fraternity hopes you attend the online sessions this summer and save the date for next summer’s 39th School of Fraternity Practices.
