2017/2018 Field Staff Announced

Carmel, IN – Theta Chi welcomes its 2017/2018 traveling Field Staff members. Also known as Field Executives, the staff consists of recently graduated Theta Chi alumni. Employed by the International Headquarters in Carmel, IN, Field Executives are tasked with travelling North America and providing onsite support to all of our chapters and colonies. These tasks include annual visits to chapters, colonies, interest groups, and helping provide support during (re)colonization, (re)installation, and expansion opportunities.

Marc Bodine (Gamma Delta/Florida Southern College 2015)

Marc Bodine is entering his fourth semester as a Field Executive. He received his Masters of Arts in Education from University College Dublin in Dublin, Ireland. Before that he attended Florida Southern College (Lakeland, FL) where he majored in Physical Education and earned a K-12 teaching degree. Marc was involved in the Southern Ambassador program, giving tours to prospective students and helping organize recruitment events. He served two terms as Marshal for the Gamma Delta Chapter.

Marc has visited over 45 chapters and colonies since joining the staff. He led the efforts for the recolonization of Epsilon Rho/Rider and Theta Psi/Wisconsin-Oshkosh, the installation of Kappa Delta/Texas-El Paso, and the redevelopment of Iota Gamma/Grand Valley State. This semester Marc serves as Senior Field Executive, charged with the redevelopment of the Gamma Kappa/Miami (OH) Chapter and expanded recruitment/expansion oversight duties.

 

Shaun Hamlin (Zeta Xi/University of California-Davis 2017)

Shaun is a graduate of the University of California-Davis (Davis, CA) where he obtained a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and a minor in Managerial Economics. As a collegian, Shaun served the Zeta Xi chapter as President, Marshal, Chaplain, Social Chairman, and organizer of the chapter’s first G.I. Theta Chi event. He also served on the IFC Executive Board as the Vice President of Recruitment.

 

Matt Lynch (Zeta Pi/Old Dominion University 2016)

Brother Lynch is entering his third semester as a Field Executive. As a collegian at Old Dominion University (Norfolk, VA), Matt sought out leadership opportunities in and beyond his chapter. He held six chair positions in his two semesters as collegiate member. Matt led two honors societies as President, in addition to Men's Club Basketball, which he founded. He held many on-campus jobs, too; including the bookstore, library, and the wrestling team.

Matt has visited over 40 chapters and colonies during his time as a Field Executive. He has assisted with our Interest Group of Epsilon Xi/Clarion, the redevelopment of Beta Psi/Presbyterian, and led the installation efforts of Kappa Epsilon/SUNY-Oswego.

 

James McGuire (Iota Delta/Southeastern Louisiana University 2016)

James is a recent graduate from Southeastern Louisiana University (Hammond, LA), where he served the Iota Delta Chapter as President, Vice President of Health and Safety, and Treasurer. He was also involved in IFC Recruitment as a Rho Gamma, Order of Omega as Treasurer, and Student Government Association as a Senator. James graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in History with a minor in Political Science. After completing his time as a Field Executive, he intends to pursue a degree in Law. 

This will be James’s second semester travelling for the Fraternity. Last semester, he visited over 20 chapters and colonies and assisted with the redevelopment of Epsilon Phi/Central Missouri and the reinstallation of Beta Zeta/Michigan State.

 

Mitch Nolan (Delta Psi/University of Kansas 2017)

Mitch graduated from the University of Kansas (Lawrence, KS) with a B.S. in Business Management & Leadership with a concentration in Entrepreneurship. He served the Delta Psi Chapter as Social Chairman, Homecoming Chairman, Rock Chalk Revenue Director, and two terms as Chapter President. He was also a member of the Student Senate as representative to the IFC and Campus Outreach Chairman on the Homecoming Steering Committee. Mitch won the Morris New Venture Business Plan competition at Kansas, and was recognized as a Resolute Man during the spring 2017 semester.

 

John Schoenle (Delta Pi/Indiana State University 2017)

As a collegian at Indiana State University (Terre Haute, IN), John had the opportunity to be involved in the reinstallation of his chapter as a freshman. During his tenure at Delta Pi, John held three elected offices: President, Secretary, and Recruitment Chairman. In 2017, he graduated with a Bachelor’s in Aviation Management with a minor in Unmanned Systems, and earned his Private Pilot Certificate accumulating 85 flight hours.

 

Blake Whitley (Zeta Rho/University of Kentucky 2017)

While at the University of Kentucky (Lexington, KY), Blake was very involved within Theta Chi and UK campus where he served as Recruitment Chairman, Secretary and Marshal for the Zeta Rho Chapter. Blake also served as IFC Vice President of Recruitment, President of the Roller Hockey Club, and mascot for the Ice Hockey Team.

 

Patrick Zurn (Iota Lambda/Longwood 2017)

As a collegian at Longwood University (Farmville, VA), Patrick sought to make an impact in everything he did. Patrick held multiple committee head positions and was Vice President of Health and Safety. He also was a Resident Assistant for three years and started a production business, which provided entertainment services for the entire east coast.
