Allan Bense (Gamma Rho/Florida State 1972) is the new Chairman of the Florida State University Board of Trustees.
Brother Bense, originally from Panama City, FL, represented Florida's 6th District from 1998-2006 in the Florida House of Representatives, and served as Speaker from 2004-2006. Today, he is president and CEO of Bense Enterprises, Inc., which is involved with construction and insurance projects. He holds a B.A. and M.B.A. from FSU. Brother Bense is also the immediate past chairman of the Florida Chamber of Commerce as well as many other boards and councils. His sister, Dr. Judy Bense, is president of the University of West Florida in Pensacola.
