UNT sophomore Benjamin “Ben” Wilcox built a website that helps students plan degrees by showing how often—and in which semesters—courses have actually been offered, solving the all-too-common problem of catalog classes that rarely materialize. Launched in late June after three weeks of coding and data “scraping” from public university sites, the tool has already helped classmates find electives to graduate on time. Wilcox is exploring AI-powered search and a companion app to track academic achievements (including for his fraternity).
