On September 27, 2014, Indiana University of Pennsylvania inducted 19 individuals into its Athletics Hall of Fame. Among the Class of 2014 inductees was Jerry Clark, Epsilon Eta/IUP 1969. Brother Clark is now enshrined among 218 other IUP former athletes, coaches, and administrators.

September 27 was a banner day for Theta Chi at IUP as Epsilon Eta was also recolonized. Alumni proudly wore red hats throughout the day, and Brother Clark made no exception when he and the other 18 inductees were honored during halftime of the football game (Back row, third from left):

As a two sport athlete at IUP, Jerry Clark excelled not only on the football field, but on the baseball diamond as well.

Clark was a three-year starter for both teams while attending school. During his time on the football field, Clark gained three varsity letters as a defensive back and had 12 career interceptions. This helped him to be named to the 1968 AP All Pennsylvania Football first team and named to IUP’s 60’s All Decade team. He also was named the 1969 Coaches Big Indian Athletic Award for Athlete of the Year.

As a baseball player, Clark gained three more varsity letters, and compiled 18 steals, which sits in the top 20 all-time at IUP. He also batted .300 or better two times.

Post-graduation Clark served active duty in the United States Army from 1969-71 before retiring as an Army reservist after 20 years.

Jerry Clark and his wife, IUP alumna, Cheryl have two children.
