Phil Vassar Reflects on Brush with Death in Music Video for 'What It Means': "I Could've Just Been Gone"

Phil Vassar may have died twice, but he has only sung about it once.

"I'm so thankful just to be alive," Vassar, 63, tells PEOPLE while sitting out on his back porch of his home in Nashville. "Just to be here talking about it is a cool moment. It was an experience coming through all that, but I feel better now than I've ever felt."
