Introducing: Your Equity and Diversity Advisory Council

On June 19, 2020, Theta Chi announced the historic creation of its “Equity and Diversity Advisory Council,” a council committed to promoting equity and diversity within Theta Chi’s membership and campus communities. Today, June 24, 2020, Theta Chi is proud to introduce the founding members of your Equity and Diversity Advisory Council!

Jermaine Merritt (Epsilon Tau/Stephen F. Austin 2015) joined Theta Chi in 2011, serving as Chapter Secretary and President. After graduating from Stephen F. Austin State University, Jermaine worked for Theta Chi International Headquarters as a Field Executive, continues to volunteer at the international level, and is now working in Texas in the field of Higher Education.

Terrell Mizell (Zeta Pi/Old Dominion 2015) joined Theta Chi 2011, serving as Chapter Recruitment Chairman and Marshal, and Vice President of Recruitment for Old Dominion University’s Interfraternity Council. After graduation, Terrell worked for Theta Chi International Headquarters as an Associate Development Officer. He continues to serve as a volunteer faculty member at Theta Chi’s international events. Currently Terrell is the Editorial Talent Acquisition Partner at POLITICO in Arlington, Virginia.

Sergio Molina (Iota Omicron/FIU 2016) joined Theta Chi in 2014, serving as Chapter President and in the Florida International University Student Government. After graduating, Sergio has remained involved with Theta Chi as a local Chapter Adviser and an international volunteer. Sergio is currently a third-year law school student with experience advocating for—and drafting—suggested policy reforms that assist disparately impacted communities on local, state and federal levels.

Jonathan Barrow Demaris (Epsilon Tau/Stephen F. Austin 2017) joined Theta Chi in 2014, serving as Chapter President. After graduating, he served as a Field Executive for Theta Chi International Headquarters. Jonathan currently resides in Houston, Texas.

Kofi Ladans (Beta Omicron/Cincinnati 2018) joined Theta Chi in 2014, serving as Chapter President, in the University of Cincinnati Student Government, and as a Summer Work Experience in Law (SWEL) Scholar. After graduating, he served as a Field Executive for Theta Chi International Headquarters. Currently Kofi is a Business Development Representative at Townsquare Interactive in Charlotte, North Carolina.
