Dr. Tim Miller Wins NASPA Award

Dr. Tim Miller, Vice President for Student Affairs, won the NASPA Region III John Jones Award for Outstanding Performance as a Senior Student Affairs Officer. Nominees of the John Jones award are individuals who have showcased leadership across the university with staff and students and have produced positive changes at their institution. Nominees identify and respond to the needs of students, advocating and implementing systematic change when necessary. Nominees have become a pillar of support for the students they serve. Dr. Miller exemplifies these traits and is highly praised and respected by students, staff, and other institutions in the state.

To students, Dr. Miller is someone who truly understands them. Many feel he takes the time to genuinely get to know each student he interacts with, creating meaningful and interpersonal connections. Kendall Cole, a student who co-facilitated a class with him, states, “Tim is the kind of leader whose impact is both visible and deeply felt, transforming systems while never losing sight of individual students.” Dr. Miller not only fosters care with the students he serves, but also with the faculty he supports.
