Mark Murphy Endowed Director of Athletics

On Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2025, UW-Green Bay and the Green Bay Packers announced that the Packers are making a leading gift to establish and endow the Mark Murphy Director of Athletics at the University.

The gift of $250,000 is being made by the Packers in honor of the organization’s longtime President and CEO as he approaches retirement in July after 17 years.

The Packers’ gift will kickstart a fundraising campaign with a goal of $1 million that will help ensure Phoenix student-athletes are able to excel in competition, in the classroom, and continue to make a positive impact in the community – all ideals that Mark holds very dearly. The endowment will include discretionary funds, for use as designated by the Director of Athletics to support the Athletic Department's area of greatest need, which will help ensure the University remains competitive in the ever-changing Division I landscape.
