Psi/Wisconsin’s Ski for Cancer raises over $116,000

Since 1969, Psi/Wisconsin has been raising money for pediatric cancer research through their annual philanthropic event, Ski for Cancer. What started out as a small idea has grown into the largest student-ran philanthropy event in the state of Wisconsin.

An event that lasts an entire week, Ski for Cancer ends with a full day of skiing, snowboarding, and tubing at Cascade Mountain in Portage, WI. This year’s event marked the 50th anniversary of the first Ski for Cancer and it ended on a high note when an announcement was made that $116,273.89 had been raised. The funds were donated to the St. Baldrick’s Foundation and the Midwest Athletes Against Childhood Cancer (MACC) Fund.

“Theta Chi's members have been enriched by their participation in Ski for Cancer,” stated Chapter President Miles Brengle. “We recognize the importance of helping children fighting cancer and strive to give them the opportunity to build memories and full lives of their own, cancer-free.”
