Theta Chi Fraternity is proud to announce that Scott Turk, Iota Beta/Missouri State University 2012, has been named a recipient of the 2013 Undergraduate Award of Distinction by the North-American Interfraternity Conference (NIC). First presented in 2002, the Undergraduate Award of Distinction "seeks to recognize the fraternity man who has found in his experience an outlet for developing as both a leader and a better man." This year’s NIC awards will be presented at the NIC Annual Meeting on April 14, 2013, in St. Louis. Additional information about the NIC Awards of Distinction can be found online here.

Scott, also the Fraternity’s 2012 Colley Award winner, is the tenth Theta Chi individual to receive this honor from the NIC. Brother Turk’s win also marks the sixth time in the past seven years that a Theta Chi has received the Undergraduate Award of Distinction. A sampling of past Theta Chi recipients include Colley Award winners Eddie Higginbotham, Eta Omicron/Northwestern State 2010, Daniel Neumann, Beta Nu/Case Western 2009, Kevin Reilly, Tau/Florida 2008, Erik Lange, Zeta Kappa/Ohio Northern 2007 and current Executive Director Michael Mayer, Epsilon Phi/Central Missouri 2004.

Scott has continued his service to Theta Chi and the greater Greek Community by serving on the International Headquarters staff as a Leadership and Education Consultant. Since January 2013, Scott has been visiting chapters providing advice and encouragement and has also been assisting with recruitment.

Mike Mayer comments, "We are very proud of Scott and his many positive contributions to Theta Chi and the entire Greek system. Leading by example, he has demonstrated for many what it truly means to be a Fraternity man."

Founded in 1856, Theta Chi Fraternity is a men’s collegiate fraternity with over 170,000 initiated members and has established 222 chapters. Leadership development, personal development, character development and service to alma mater are fundamental to Theta Chi Fraternity’s mission.
