The 2012 Freeman/Chase 5K was a huge success- overall, Theta Chi raised over $1,000 for the new Al Bulliner Memorial Scholarship Fund, which will benefit Theta Chi brothers who are serving as Graduate Advisers. Thanks to everyone who participated!

The Freeman/Chase 5K Run/Walk is back!

A time-honored tradition, this year's 5K promises to challenge, inspire and energize. And, you'll get to help a good cause in the process.

The Freeman-Chase 5K run/walk will be held during the National Convention, on Friday, July 6, at 7 a.m. Unlike in previous years, this year's 5K has a philanthropy component- donation stations will be set up at the Marketplace and brothers will be encouraged to contribute whatever they can. On Friday, the largest team to complete the run/walk will choose where to donate the proceeds.

Yes, 7 a.m. does seem early, but how often do you get to participate in a philanthropy event with undergraduates and alumni representing every single chapter and colony in Theta Chi? Get up and exercise with your brothers and help a charity in need.

Suggestions on creating the winning team:

  1. Have a good team name
  2. Seek out brothers attending from your region
  3. Seek out alumni attending convention
  4. Talk with guys you are rooming with
  5. Get convention faculty members to join your team
