A statue of Ron Fraser (Gamma Rho/Florida State 1960), the University of Miami’s legendary baseball coach, was dedicated April 24, 2015, in a ceremony attended by family, former players and many fans. The statue, funded primarily by friends and fans of the late coach, and sculpted by Zenos Frudakis, stands outside Mark Light Stadium welcoming fans to the game.

Fraser led the Hurricanes from 1963-1992, won two national championships, went to 20 straight postseasons, and never had a losing season.

Fraser was also a master at promoting and marketing college baseball and helped to develop the sport into a major player in college athletics. He also put Mark Light Stadium on the map as one of South Florida’s premier family entertainment spots.
