On Saturday, Dec. 3, 2011, Theta Chi reinstalled the Zeta Rho chapter at the University of Kentucky. Fifty Founding Fathers were initiated over the weekend, and were joined by chapter alumni, representatives of the International Headquarters staff and Grand Chapter.

First recognized in the fall 2010 semester, the interest group was formed after a group of UK freshmen notified the International Headquarters of their desire to restart Zeta Rho. In less than a year, the group grew to 27 members and nearly doubled again this fall. The interest group formally colonized on Sept. 18, 2011.

The University of Kentucky was first established in 1865 as the Agricultural and Mechanical College of Kentucky. Today, it is the Commonwealth of Kentuckys largest university with more than 19,000 undergraduate students and a total enrollment of over 27,000. UK currently has 20 NIC fraternities and 15 NPC organizations, as well as a number of NPHC and other multicultural organizations.
