THETA CHI RENAMES FIELD STAFF TITLES TO FIELD EXECUTIVE

AUGUST 8, 2014 - Carmel, IN - Effective immediately, Theta Chi's International Headquarters is retiring the titles of Leadership and Education Consult and Recruitment and Expansion Specialist.   All Field Staff members will now have the title Field Executive.   This title change has been enacted to more accurately convey the role and importance of Field Staff members to the organization.

The Field Staff program dates back to 1923 with the appointment of Harold Fellows, Kappa/Pennsylvania 1921, as the first Traveling Secretary.  The title of the Field Staff members has evolved to include Field Secretary, Field Representative, and, since 1990, Leadership and Education Consultant.  More recently, staff members dedicated to expanding the Fraternity have been called Expansion Coordinators and Recruitment and Expansion Specialists.

Though the names have changed, the fundamental purpose of the position has remained the same for more than 9 decades.  The Field Staff serve as the direct arm of the International Headquarters to chapters and colonies.

Founded in 1856, Theta Chi Fraternity is a men’s collegiate fraternity with more than 175,000 initiated members and has established 226 chapters. Leadership development, personal development, and service to alma mater are fundamental to Theta Chi Fraternity’s mission.
