The Volunteer Spotlight for November highlights Allen Carter, Eta Omicron/Northwestern State 1976

Brother Carter has been involved and advising chapters of Theta Ch Fraternity since graduating in 1976. Besides his involvement as an advisor for his own chapter, he served as a Regional Counselor for several other chapters in the Louisiana / Texas / Oklahoma area.

Allen’s dedication is evident in his attendance at 16 national conventions and that he has served as a volunteer on several Grand Chapter Committees.  Brother Carter has been presented with numerous Awards including the Alumni Award from the Grand Chapter, Citation of Honor, David E. DeVol Award and the second highest honor in the fraternity, the Earl D. Rhodes Theta Chi for Life Award. He has also been granted honorary membership in four other chapters in Theta Chi fraternity.

More recently, Allen helped to recruit and mentor a new Chapter Advisory Board for Eta Omicron/Northwestern State. He also currently serves as the Counselor for Eta Rho/Centenary College.

It is also important to note that Allen’s wife, Ruth Carter, who passed away in 2009, came to many Theta Chi events over the years. She received the Mable Oswaldt Appreciation Award in 2003 for her dedication and support of Theta Chi Fraternity. She is greatly missed by the brothers who knew her well.

Brother Carter is retired and currently lives in Natchitoches, Louisiana.
