The Volunteer spotlight for December highlights Jason Carmichael, Gamma Chi/Randolph-Macon 2007.

Brother Carmichael has a tradition of excellence as both an undergraduate leader and as an alumnus volunteer for Theta Chi Fraternity.

Jason first excelled at his chapter's President during the 2005/2006 school year. Then, in 2007, he was selected as the recipient of the James Ralph "Shug" Jordan award for the top Theta Chi undergraduate scholar-athlete in the country.

After graduation, Jason worked for the Fraternity as a Leadership and Education Consultant during the 2008/2009 school year. During his travels, Brother Carmichael traveled throughout the east coast assisting over 50 chapters.

Along with serving as educational faculty at the 2012 Convention and serving on the "Shug" Jordan Award Committee, Jason has also been appointed Counselor for three chapters in Virginia. Las year he was able to fully train new Alumni Chapter Advisory Boards at Omicron/Richmond and Gamma Chi/Randolph-Macon College. He also assists the Alumni at Theta Xi/VCU and was recently elected Vice President of Gamma Chi Chapter Housing Corporation.

Jason has been an outstanding local volunteer for his chapter as well as a valuable resource for the national Fraternity. He currently lives in the Richmond area with his wife Rebecca and teaches History at a local private school.
